The Laja Adeoye Campaign Organisation (LACO) joins millions of Nigerians at home and abroad, especially the resilient people of Lagos State, in commemorating Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary
On this historic occasion, we celebrate the Nigerian spirit — the courage to keep moving forward, the determination to build despite difficulties, and the enduring hope that a better Nigeria remains possible.

For Lagosians, this resilience is particularly evident. Every day, our people wake up early, work hard, run businesses, raise families, create opportunities and contribute to the growth of Lagos, often in the face of significant economic and infrastructural challenges.

As we celebrate independence, however, celebration must also inspire reflection on what democracy should mean in the daily lives of ordinary citizens.

Democracy should not be measured only by elections, political appointments or government announcements. Its dividends should be visible in the lives of the people.

This is the principle that guides the vision of Prince Laja Adeoye for Lagos.
LACO believes that Lagosians deserve governance that moves beyond promises to measurable action and tangible results.
Prince Laja Adeoye has articulated an agenda centred on improving the quality of life of Lagosians, expanding opportunities for young people and entrepreneurs, improving infrastructure and public services, and building a government that is more responsive to the needs of the people.
His commitment, as presented through the Atunto Eko agenda, is that government must translate its policies into things that citizens can actually feel — better opportunities, improved services, a more productive business environment and greater attention to the everyday challenges confronting residents.
Lagos cannot be governed by promises alone. Lagos requires delivery.
The people deserve to see the impact of government in their businesses, homes, communities, schools, roads and workplaces. They deserve leadership that understands that public office is a responsibility to serve rather than merely an opportunity to make declarations.
As we celebrate Nigeria’s independence, LACO therefore reaffirms its commitment to presenting a vision of Lagos where the relationship between government and citizens is defined by service, accountability, performance and results.
We congratulate all Nigerians and particularly our brothers and sisters across Lagos State on this Independence Anniversary.
May Nigeria continue to grow in peace, unity and prosperity.
Happy Independence Day, Nigeria!
Signed,
Ayodele Kazeem Olalekan
