The Man O’War Nigeria Oyo State Command, under the able leadership of the State Commander, MC Yakeen Lukman FCSS MSA FWIP, felicitates with the Government and good people of Nigeria as the nation commemorates its 66th Independence Anniversary and welcomes the month of October 2026.

The 66th Independence Anniversary is a significant milestone in the history of Nigeria. Independence represents freedom, self-determination, national identity and the responsibility of citizens to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of their country.

While Independence gives citizens the opportunity to determine their collective future, it also places a responsibility on everyone to protect the peace, unity, resources, environment and institutions of the nation.

Let’s Believe in Nigeria
The Oyo State Command calls on Nigerians to continue to believe in Nigeria and contribute positively to the development of the country.
Citizens are encouraged to reduce unnecessary abuse, insults, curses and destructive comments against our leaders, states and country. Constructive criticism is important in every democracy, but it should be expressed responsibly, respectfully and with the genuine intention of contributing to positive change.
Nigeria belongs to all of us. Government has its responsibilities, but citizens also have important roles to play through responsible conduct, hard work, community service, respect for the law and protection of public property.
We should also remember our country in our prayers, asking God for peace, wisdom, justice, prosperity and responsible leadership at all levels.
Protecting Our Environment and Schools
As a service-oriented organisation committed to national development, Man O’War Nigeria Oyo State Command will continue to encourage citizens, particularly young people, to take environmental protection seriously.
Our environment is part of our national heritage. We must discourage indiscriminate dumping of refuse, destruction of public facilities, environmental pollution and other practices that endanger our communities.
The Command also recognises the importance of schools as centres for building the future generation. We will continue to support initiatives that promote discipline, responsible citizenship, environmental awareness, safety consciousness and positive values among students and young people.
A better Nigeria begins with responsible citizens who are willing to make a difference wherever they find themselves.
Our People Abroad and the Value of Home
The Command further encourages Nigerians to appreciate the opportunities and privileges available within our country while striving to improve them.
Not everyone has the opportunity or grace to travel outside Nigeria, and even those who do may encounter challenges in other parts of the world. Therefore, we should not completely condemn our country or assume that life elsewhere is without difficulties.
Rather than only speaking negatively about Nigeria, let us ask ourselves: What can I do to make my community, school, workplace, environment and country better?
Our collective efforts, no matter how small, can contribute to national progress.
Man O’War Nigeria Oyo State Command Reaffirms Commitment
The Man O’War Nigeria Oyo State Command assures the government and the general public of its continued commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peace, discipline, safety, environmental responsibility, youth development and national unity.
As we celebrate our Independence Anniversary, we encourage everyone to celebrate responsibly, maintain peace and demonstrate the values of good citizenship.
Welcome to October
As we enter the new month of October, the Command wishes every resident of Oyo State and Nigerians across the country a month filled with peace, favour, good health, progress and new opportunities.
May God continue to protect Nigeria, bless our communities, strengthen our leaders with wisdom, and grant citizens the courage and unity to contribute to the development of our great nation.
May October bring new beginnings, open doors, divine protection, fruitful opportunities and greater hope to every family.
Happy New Month!
Happy 66th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria!
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
Long live Oyo State!
Long live Man O’War Nigeria!
