2027: SDP Candidate Arafat Adedeji Pledges Jobs, Women Empowerment for Ibadan North East Constituency II

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for the 2027 Oyo State House of Assembly election in Ibadan North East Constituency II, Hon. Arafat Adedeji, has unveiled an ambitious agenda focused on job creation, women empowerment, and social welfare programmes aimed at improving the lives of residents across the constituency.

Arafat made the pledge while receiving her Certificate of Participation and Return at a colourful ceremony held at the SDP State Secretariat, where she was officially presented as the party’s candidate for the 2027 general election.

Speaking at the event, the SDP standard-bearer emphasized her commitment to championing developmental legislation and community-based projects that would benefit youths, women, widows, widowers, and other vulnerable groups if elected into the Oyo State House of Assembly.

She outlined several priority areas of her proposed legislative agenda, including the establishment of healthcare centres, construction of erosion-control drainage systems, installation of solar-powered street lights, educational support initiatives, and the provision of interest-free soft loans to traders and small business owners.

Arafat also promised to implement empowerment programmes targeted at women and the less privileged, while creating employment opportunities for young people across the constituency.

As part of her grassroots engagement efforts, the SDP candidate visited residents of the Agodi/Idi-Oro community, where she sought their support ahead of the 2027 elections. She assured the people that she would remain accountable and deliver on her campaign promises if elected.

In their remarks, party supporters and community stakeholders described Arafat as a woman of integrity and strong character. They expressed confidence in her leadership qualities and urged her to remain committed to her promises should she secure victory at the polls.

The gathering was attended by several SDP leaders and community figures, including the SDP Chairman in Ibadan North East Local Government, Mr. Mojeed Mukale; the party’s Woman Leader, Mrs. Bukola Tijani; Mr. Charles; Mr. Taiwo Olaitan Anthony; Mr. Yinka Odulami of Ward 9; Wasiu Olabamiji of Ward 8; and the Organising Secretary, Akeem Owoseni.

Others present were Tahatu Ademuyiwa, Chairman of Ward 7; Kazeem Mogaji; Rev. Abiodun Oderinde; Chairman of the Agodi/Idi-Oro Community Development Association, Elder Joseph Akinade; and other party faithful and well-wishers.

The event highlighted growing momentum within the SDP in Ibadan North East Constituency II as preparations gradually gather pace for the 2027 general elections.
