A silent tug of war seems to be brewing in the ranks and file of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State over what observers have described as usurpation of roles between the State Publicity Secretary and the youth leader of the Party in the State.

After the inconclusive governorship primary election of the APC which political observers say, favors Senator Sarafadeen Alli as APC gubernatorial candidate, there have been indications that the State Excos of Oyo APC is divided.

The issue became more obvious when Olalekan Oladejo otherwise known as Olalekan Glory signed a press release on behalf of the party instead of the publicity secretary of the party, Mr. Wasiu Sadare.

Sadare, who has been speaking for the party for the past fifteen years was reelected as the Publicity Secretary of the Party, alongside Olalekan Glory as the youth leader during the APC congress last year, has reported Olalekan to some members of the State Exco, voicing out his disapproval of how the State youth leader has left his own role to take over the publicity work of the Party.

According to an anonymous source, Sadare has vowed to ensure that he will not allow anyone to relegate him irrespective of how powerful the backers of such a person are.

Those who are close to Olalekan Glory dismissed the objection of Mr. Wasiu Sadare, saying his method of publicity has become rusty and not fit for the 21st century political communication and such Lekan will always come in to set the right media tone for the Party.

“If Sadare was that competent, why did the APC have such humiliating outcome during the last governorship election in the State? That is to tell you that Sadare did not project the APC as a better alternative to the ruling PDP to the people of Oyo State then”.
