APM Consensus Process Strengthens Party Unity in Oyo — Ogundoyin
The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has described the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) consensus and affirmation exercises across Oyo State as another major milestone in the party’s democratic journey ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
Ogundoyin, who participated in the party’s consensus and affirmation process on Thursday, was officially affirmed as the APM consensus candidate for the Ibarapa East State Constituency at the party secretariat in Eruwa.
Speaking after the exercise, the lawmaker expressed appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, delegates and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, assuring them that he would continue to justify the trust placed in his leadership.
“I sincerely appreciate party leaders, stakeholders, delegates and faithful supporters for the confidence reposed in me. I do not take this trust for granted,” he stated.
Following the Eruwa exercise, Ogundoyin joined the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, alongside other party faithful at the Watershed Event Centre, Ibadan, for the governorship, senatorial and House of Representatives consensus programme.
According to him, the large turnout and peaceful conduct of the event reflected the growing strength, unity and acceptance of the APM across Oyo State.
He further commended aspirants and party stakeholders for embracing consensus as a mechanism for promoting unity, stability and collective progress within the party.
Ogundoyin also praised Governor Seyi Makinde for what he described as purposeful and people-oriented leadership, noting that the governor’s style of governance has continued to attract admiration beyond the borders of Oyo State.
The Speaker expressed confidence that the APM would continue to wax stronger and remain united ahead of the electoral contest.
He reaffirmed the commitment of party members to sustaining harmony and working collectively towards achieving success in the forthcoming elections.
