The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Atiba Local Government has adopted Engr. Hamod Olushina Ijadunola, FNSE, as its consensus candidate for the Atiba State Constituency seat ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The consensus decision, reached at the APC Local Government Secretariat opposite Jaunta Mosque, reflected the resolve of party executives, stakeholders, and members to maintain unity and avoid a divisive primary process within the party.
The official announcement of Engr. Ijadunola’s emergence was made by Hon. Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi, representing Afijio/Atiba/Oyo East/Oyo West Federal Constituency, a move widely seen as a strong indication of alignment within the party structure. Political observers also noted the significant support of Senator Yunus Akintunde, alongside the political influence and strategic contributions of Hon. Asimiyu Alarape throughout the process.
Speaking during the gathering, APC Chairman in Atiba Local Government, Adelowo Ademola, emphasized the need for loyalty, teamwork, and unity among party members as preparations intensify for the general election campaign.
In his acceptance remarks, Engr. Hamod Ijadunola expressed appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, and members for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged not to betray the trust placed in his leadership and assured constituents of quality representation anchored on dedication, accessibility, and grassroots engagement.
He further promised to work closely with party members and the people of Atiba to ensure progress and inclusive development across the constituency.
Political analysts believe the emergence of Engr. Ijadunola through consensus could further strengthen APC’s chances in Atiba, particularly as the party continues to project internal cohesion ahead of the polls.
