In our last minute effort at garnering votes at tomorrow’s senatorial primaries, I met stakeholders in Iseyin this afternoon. After my presentation, every speaker including former Commissioner for Environment, Waheed Dauda commended my vision and unanimously endorsed my candidacy.
I left for Kajola Local Government in continuation of the campaign but got a call from some stakeholders at the meeting that the same Waheed Dauda had claimed the party had closed on a particular aspirant as official candidate. He purportedly called Mr Wale Sadare, the State Publicity Secretary, who on speakerphone also claimed the party had chosen the aspirant as consensus candidate.
I placed a call to Sadare who denied ever making such a claim. I put him on the spot to confirm if the party had indeed picked a candidate, which he vehemently denied.Thisbis the falsehood they had perpetrated these past few weeks on the primaries of the APC in Oyo State.
I am bringing this to your notice so you are aware of the shenanigans some party officials are undertaking in pursuit of stomach infrastructure at the expense of the integrity of the party and the democratic credentials of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
President Tinubu has at different fora directed that there should be free and fair primaries where the aspirants do not agree to a consensus arrangement. President Tinubu has indeed submitted to a direct primary against a challenger for the presidential ticket. Why are these politicians at the party in Oyo State determined to drag the integrity of the party in dirty mud?
Fellow supporters, please ignore the elaborate plot to deny you your democratic right as a member of the APC. Come out to vote at the primaries tomorrow. Choose competence, experience and vision above mediocrity.
