In a clear show of commitment to strengthening the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the state level, the Laja Adeoye Campaign Organization has donated essential operational equipment to the PDP Lagos State Secretariat in Ikeja.
During a brief handing-over ceremony, Otunba Ademola Alebiosu, the LACO coordinator, and Mr. Yusuf Fadeyi, Special Assistant on General Duties to Prince Laja Adeoye, presented the items on behalf of the campaign organization to the State Chairman of the party, Barrister (Dr) Amos Fawole, in company of the State Secretary, Chief Abiola. The donations include refrigerators, dozens of plastic chairs, a public address system, air conditioners, and other materials, with a pledge for additional support to ensure smooth operations and effective meetings at the secretariat.
Prince Laja Adeoye, a leading PDP governorship aspirant for Lagos State in 2027 and a prominent real estate entrepreneur, described the gesture as part of his effort to support seasoned leaders who have sacrificed greatly for the party’s growth. He particularly commended the Atona Oodua, Chief Olabode George, describing him as a tireless and dedicated leader whose relentless efforts in building the PDP in Lagos deserve appreciation and backing from the younger generation.
The Laja Adeoye Campaign Organization urged all PDP members to collaborate in rebuilding the party from the state down to the local government, ward, and unit levels. “It is crucial to develop the party at the grassroots, deepen democracy, and ensure that accurate information about the PDP reaches the people,” the organization stated.
The statement further stressed that the PDP remains the only credible alternative to the misgovernance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State. “For the party to truly take over power and deliver meaningful dividends of democracy to the good people of Lagos, all hands must be on deck,” it stated.
The organization added that the strength of the PDP as a vital opposition party explains why external forces in the ruling APC and moles pretending to be PDP members are being deployed to destabilize it. It expressed great respect and solidarity with key leaders, including National Chairman, Barrister Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN), Governor Seyi Makinde, Atona Oodua Chief Bode George, and Lagos State Chairman Dr Amos Fawole, for their steadfastness during the ongoing legal battle for the soul of the party at the Supreme Court.
“We are ready to accept and follow whichever decision our party leaders take following the outcome of the case at the Supreme Court. We affirm our firm loyalty to our leaders and will follow whichever direction they lead us,” the statement affirmed.
This latest donation builds on Prince Laja Adeoye’s consistent philanthropic support for the PDP. In 2023, through his campaign organization and foundation initiatives, he donated motorcycles, laptops, and other empowerment tools to party members in Lagos to boost grassroots mobilization and communication. More recently, he contributed over N10,000,000 to support PDP candidates during the last Local Government elections.
As the PDP continues its internal rebuilding process in Lagos, many stakeholders believe that a Supreme Court judgment restoring full legitimacy to the Kabiru Tanimu Turaki-led national leadership would significantly protect internal party democracy and help sustain Nigeria’s multi-party system. A united and credible PDP is viewed as essential in providing robust opposition and a genuine alternative to the ruling APC, thereby strengthening democratic choices for Nigerians.
