A political aspirant, Ambassador Onaolapo Ademola Omiyale, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Oyo State House of Assembly seat representing Ido Constituency in the 2027 general election.

Omiyale, in a statement announcing his ambition, said his decision followed extensive consultations with stakeholders, party leaders, and supporters across the constituency. He noted that his resolve to join the race was driven by concerns over what he described as poor and ineffective representation of the people.

According to him, the constituency has suffered from a lack of foresight, inclusive leadership, and people-oriented governance, which he said has resulted in a disconnect between elected representatives and the genuine needs of the people.

The aspirant, however, pledged to prioritise accountability, effective representation, and sustainable development if elected. He assured constituents of his commitment to serve with integrity, vision, and dedication to advancing their collective aspirations.

Omiyale expressed confidence in the support of the people and his political party, adding that he is fully prepared to contest in the 2027 general election. He also invoked divine guidance as he declared his readiness to embark on the political journey.
