A well-known grassroots mobilizer and longtime political loyalist, Hon. Sheriff Segun Adesina SSA popularly known as Omo Sheu has officially declared his intention to contest for a seat in the Oyo State House of Assembly, representing Ibadan North-West State Constituency.
This development was made public through a formal notice addressed to the Ward 10 Chairman in Ibadan North-West Local Government, signaling the beginning of what is expected to be a keenly contested race ahead of the next general elections.
In his declaration, Adesina expressed deep commitment to the growth and progress of his constituency, highlighting his years of active involvement in grassroots politics. He noted that his aspiration is driven by a genuine desire to serve the people, promote good governance, and foster meaningful development across the constituency.

“I humbly wish to state that I was prevailed upon by party leaders to step down in both the 2019 and 2023 election cycles in the interest of party unity. Regrettably, the candidates who benefited from those decisions subsequently left our great party after attaining their ambitions.
However, I, Sheriff Segun Adesina, remained steadfast and loyal to the People’s Democratic Party Nigeria (PDP), even when I was not selected as the party’s candidate for Ibadan North West. My commitment to the party has never wavered, and I continue to uphold its ideals with dedication and integrity. Governor Seyi Makinde’s decision is final”
The aspirant also called for the support and cooperation of party leaders, stakeholders, and members, particularly within Ward 10 and beyond, as he embarks on his political journey. He stressed the importance of unity and collective effort in achieving the party’s goals and delivering impactful representation.
