As Muslims across Nigeria marked the end of Ramadan with the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr on Friday, March 20, 2026, a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Aare (Hon) Dr Dawood Olalere D-Al-Ameen, has called for renewed commitment to purposeful leadership, unity, and progressive governance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Hon D-Al-Ameen, who represents Ibadan NorthWest State Constituency under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), used the occasion of Eid to reflect on the future of the party, his legislative experience, and his aspiration to represent Ibadan NorthWest/SouthWest Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.
Speaking shortly after Eid prayers, the lawmaker emphasized the need for a people-centered political movement, noting that the ADC remains a viable platform for credible leadership and grassroots-driven development.
“Eid is not only a time of celebration but also a moment of reflection, sacrifice, and renewed dedication to service. These are the same values we must bring into governance,” he said.
D-Al-Ameen, a respected community leader and philanthropist, expressed confidence in the growing strength of the ADC, describing it as a party with a clear vision to redefine governance in Nigeria.
According to him, his ambition to contest for the Federal House of Representatives in 2027 is driven by a desire to expand the scope of his service and deliver impactful representation at the national level.
“My aspiration is not about personal gain but about deepening development, empowering our people, and ensuring that the voices of Ibadan NorthWest and SouthWest are heard clearly in Abuja,” he stated.
Beyond politics, Dr. D-Al-Ameen holds the revered traditional title of Aare Musulumi of Ibadan NorthWest Local Government, a recognition of his immense contributions to the growth of Islam and community welfare.
Widely regarded as one of the foremost financiers of Islamic causes in the area, he has consistently supported religious institutions, educational initiatives, and humanitarian projects aimed at uplifting the less privileged.
He reiterated his commitment to sustaining these efforts, stressing that leadership must transcend political office and reflect genuine service to humanity.
In his Eid message, the lawmaker urged Nigerians, particularly residents of Oyo State, to embrace peace, tolerance, and unity irrespective of political, ethnic, or religious differences.
“Our diversity should be our strength, not our weakness. As we celebrate Eid, let us recommit ourselves to building a society anchored on justice, equity, and mutual respect,” he said.
