

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Alhaji AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju, has been lauded for his unwavering commitment to grassroots development, social welfare, and impactful service delivery.
Making the commendation was the Honorable commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy matters Hon.Ademola Obafemi Ojo
at the official commissioning of Renovated Secretariat Hall, Solar powered street lights installed at Eleyele market and empowerment programs held at the Council Secretariat, Onireke,


The Hon. Commissioner commended the Chairman for demonstrating administrative prudence and focus in the face of limited resources.He noted that the Executive Chairman has used the available resources judiciously to support people at the grassroots, encouraging self-reliance and economic productivity. The commissioner reiterated that the local government remains the closest tier to the people, and efforts such as these are essential to truly delivering the dividends of democracy.
Hon. Ojo also congratulated all the beneficiaries of the empowerment scheme and charged them to utilize the tools and equipment effectively for maximum productivity.


In his address, the Executive Chairman,Alhaji Adepoju stated that the commissioned projects and empowerment initiative are part of the fulfillment of his campaign promises to improve the well-being of residents. He emphasized that his administration is not just building infrastructure, but also investing in people. “Our belief is that governance must reflect in the daily lives of the people it serves,” he said.




The Council Boss added that the projects are aligned with the transformation agenda of His Excellency, Governor Oluwaseyi Makinde, and reflect a shared vision of extending development to every corner of the state. He maintained that the solar powered street lights installed are to improve security, encourage economic activities at night and promote environmental sustainability. He further added that the empowerment program is targeted at supporting the people to be self-reliant and productive contributors to the local economy.
Earlier, in her welcome remarks, the Head of the Local Government Administration (HLGA),Mrs Rachael Olabode appreciated the Executive Chairman for his responsiveness and commitment, especially in renovating the previously outdated Secretariat Hall into a modern facility. She stated that the upgraded hall will now serve as a central hub for administrative meetings, community events, and official functions, describing it as a transformation the council can be proud of.
In their separate goodwill messages, the Party stalwarts present at the event commended the Executive Chairman for his visionary initiative and urged him not to relent in his efforts to bring more development to Ibadan Northwest Local Government. They all urged the beneficiaries not to dispose or sell the items given to them but rather utilize them for the attached purposes.

In the same vein, the beneficiaries, expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the council Boss for complementing their means of livelihood, assuring that the empowerment materials received would be used productively and contribute meaningfully to the economic growth of the local government.






The items distributed were Sewing machines, Grinding machines, Hair dryer, laundry machine, Generating set, POS machine with cash, Clippers and cash gift to 140 people.



Present at the Occasion were , PA to His Excellency, Alh Akeem Azeez, State PDP Vice Chairman,Alh Wasiu Adeleke, IBNW state Honorable,Hon Daud Olalere, Alh Ishola Labule,Dr Remi Ayodele, Vice Chairman, Alh Ganiy Abiodun Omotosho,leader of the House, Mr Gbemileke Nelson, Hon. Akeem Ige, Ambassador Kehinde Akande ànd Alh Lukman Adesina.

Others were Mrs Sarah Shobowale, Chief of staff,Mr Kazeem Fantola, councilors, Supervisory councilors, SAs, PDP leaders, and Heads of departments led by the Head of the Local government Administration Mrs Rachael Olabode.
