A prominent socio-political support group with a broad grassroots reach, Seyi Makinde Disciples (SMD), has showered glowing tributes on the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, describing him as a transformational, people-centered, and visionary leader whose governance continues to redefine public service and democratic dividends.
In a goodwill message released on Thursday and jointly signed by the group’s Convener, Prince Laja Adeoye, and its Spokesman, Olusegun C. A. Taiwo (OCAT), the SMD praised Governor Makinde for his uncommon courage, administrative brilliance, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people as he marks 58years.
According to the statement, “Governor Seyi Makinde stands tall as a beacon of hope, a reformer with a human face, and a leader whose policies are anchored on equity, transparency, and sustainable development. At 58, he exemplifies maturity, wisdom, and a rare blend of technocratic excellence and political empathy across board and nationwide.”
The group noted that under Governor Makinde’s purposeful leadership, Oyo State has witnessed remarkable infrastructural renewal, prudent financial management, strengthened institutions, and inclusive governance that prioritizes workers, youths, women, and the vulnerable. They added that his calm disposition and decisive actions have earned him admiration beyond party lines.
The SMD described the governor as a bridge-builder and father figure, whose leadership philosophy is driven by service rather than self, and whose legacy continues to inspire a new generation of progressive-minded citizens and leaders across the state and Nigeria at large.
“Your Excellency’s commitment to due process, security of lives and property, and people-oriented policies has restored public confidence in government. You have proven that leadership can be compassionate, visionary, and effective,” the statement further read.
The SMD also used the occasion to reaffirm its unflinching loyalty and support to the governor, pledging to continue mobilizing citizens to sustain the gains of his administration and uphold the ideals of good governance.
The group concluded with heartfelt prayers, asking God Almighty to grant Governor Makinde long life, robust health, renewed strength, and greater wisdom to continue serving humanity. They prayed that his days ahead be filled with greater achievements, divine guidance, and enduring peace as he continues to chart a path of progress and prosperity for Oyo State and Nigeria.
