Governor Seyi Makinde has once again shown leadership and commitment to the people of Oyo State as he visited the Ologuneru axis of the ongoing 110km Senator Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road Project to meet directly with affected property owners.

During the engagement, which lasted several hours, the governor listened to the concerns of residents across the 38 communities involved and reassured them that:

All setback and corridor issues will be resolved before 2027.

No house will be demolished without full and adequate compensation.

  Developed areas will not exceed the 150-metre setback limit.

Only the New Towns & Cities Development Authority will interface with residents moving forward.

Governor Makinde emphasized that the Circular Road is a rapid transfer network that must meet standard highway regulations, but he also stressed that this will not be done at the expense of people’s homes without fairness and due process.

He stated:
“You elected this government, and in over six years we have not failed you — we will not start failing now. If there are issues, we will solve them. No demolition will happen without compensation.”

He also explained that the project has three major segments, noting that:

* The Technical University–Badeku (32km) stretch is almost completed.
* The Badeku–Moniya (40km) segment is ongoing.
* The final Moniya–TechU stretch will be completed by the next administration.

In recognition of the residents’ cooperation and organization, Gov. Makinde directed that 10 representatives from affected communities be selected to work directly with the New Towns & Cities Authority to ensure transparency and continuous engagement.

Community leaders, including the Asiwaju of Ido, Chief Niyi Akintola, praised the governor’s compassion and urged residents to maintain dialogue, expressing confidence that Gov. Makinde would find a lasting solution to the longstanding corridor concerns.
