The Former Councillors of Ibadan North-West Local Government who served between 2021 and 2024 wish to formally reaffirm their unwavering loyalty, solidarity and commitment to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, and the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM).
We categorically state that rumours and insinuations suggesting anti-party activities, disloyalty or division among the former councillors are unfounded and should be disregarded by the general public.
For the avoidance of doubt, any statement or position reportedly expressed by one of our former colleagues, who served as the Leader of the House, represents his personal opinion and position alone. It does not represent the collective position of the former councillors of Ibadan North-West Local Government. No individual has the authority to speak on behalf of the entire group without a collective mandate.
We hereby declare our support for the following candidates:
- Engr. Seyi Makinde – Presidential Candidate, Nigeria.
- Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi – Governorship Candidate, Oyo State.
- Rt. Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullah Olajide (Odidiomo) – Senatorial Candidate, Oyo South Senatorial District.
- Dr. Akin Fagbemi – Candidate for Member, House of Representatives, Ibadan North-West/South-West Federal Constituency.
- Dr. Olayinka Gbolahan Ibikunle – Candidate for Member, Oyo State House of Assembly, Ibadan North-West State Constituency.
- The APM Chairmanship and Vice-Chairmanship Candidates of Ibadan North-West Local Government.
- All eleven APM Councillorship Candidates across the eleven wards of the local government.
Our commitment to the ideals, leadership and political family we belong to remains firm. We recognise that politics is built on trust, loyalty, mutual respect, appreciation and the recognition of those who have contributed to our growth and political advancement.
As the popular saying goes, “Only an ingrate bites the fingers that fed him.” We therefore believe that loyalty, gratitude and respect for those who have supported our political journey should remain important values in our collective political engagements.
We remain grateful for the opportunities, support and leadership we have enjoyed over the years. Our commitment to Governor Seyi Makinde and the Allied Peoples’ Movement is rooted in our conviction, appreciation and shared aspirations for the continued development of Ibadan North-West and Oyo State.
We consequently urge party members, supporters and the general public to disregard misleading reports suggesting disunity or anti-party activities among the former councillors. We remain committed to peace, unity and constructive engagement within our political family.For the record, our position is clear: We stand for loyalty, unity and progress.
