The presidential campaign organisation of the Allied Peoples Movement presidential candidate and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, and his running mate, Lawal Daura, has announced plans to take its “Reset Nigeria” message to the six geopolitical zones as part of its nationwide consultation and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication, Anthony Ehilebo, who disclosed this during a press conference on Sunday, said the zonal town hall meetings would provide platforms for citizens and stakeholders to discuss critical national issues, particularly those relating to the stability of the country and the well-being of Nigerians.
He declared that the series will begin with the North-West meeting in Katsina State, on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
Ehilebo stated, “The Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation invited you this afternoon as part of our media routine to update you on the activities of our campaign, particularly the ongoing nationwide consultation and grassroots mobilisation to ensure the victory of our presidential candidate, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde and his running mate, Alh. Lawal Daura, on the platform of our great party, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
“As we continue with our consultation and mobilisation, it is imperative to, through you, inform Nigerians that we have commenced our scheduled town hall meetings for broad-based citizens and stakeholder engagement slated to hold in the six geo-political zones across the country.
“The Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Zonal town hall meetings have been scheduled to commence with the North West zone on Tuesday, 22nd September, 2026, in Katsina, the Katsina State capital. On Friday, 25th September, 2026, the campaign will move to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for the South-South zonal town hall meeting.”
The campaign spokesperson said the team would hold its North-Central town hall meeting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on September 28, followed by the South-East meeting in Enugu on September 30.
He said dates for the remaining zones would be announced later, adding that the engagements would focus on critical national issues, including the country’s stability and citizens’ welfare.
Ehilebo continued, “Our presidential candidate is renowned for his strong affinity and bond with Nigerians, irrespective of class, ethnicity and creed. Our campaign belongs to the people. Our message is to reset Nigeria to a nation that truly works for all.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed January 16, 2027, for the presidential election.
