Hon. (Mrs.) Toyin Balogun has commended Governor Seyi Makinde, the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), for what she described as his commitment to the recognition and inclusion of women in governance and political leadership.

Mrs Balogun who is the National Women Mobilization Director, in a statement, cited the appointment of a female Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State as an example of the administration’s efforts to create opportunities for women, particularly young women, to occupy strategic positions in government.

She further highlighted what she described as women’s growing representation within the APM, noting that the party has provided platforms for female aspirants and candidates ahead of the forthcoming elections. Balogun said the development reflected the party’s stated commitment to ensuring greater participation of women in political decision-making and leadership at different levels.

Her statement:

According to her, meaningful inclusion requires deliberate efforts to give women and young people opportunities to contribute to governance and national development. She maintained that the participation of more women in elective and party positions would strengthen representation and encourage a broader range of voices in the political process, adding that she looks forward to Makinde’s inauguration as President of Nigeria on May 29, 2027.
