The Sharafite Movement has held its maiden Orientation and Media Engagement Programme in Ibadan, Oyo State, with a renewed focus on strengthening its structure and communication activities in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party’s Oyo State governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (BSA), ahead of the 2027 elections.

The programme, held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the APC Oyo State Secretariat, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, brought together members and stakeholders of the movement for presentations, discussions and interactive sessions on the objectives and communication structure of Sharafite Movement and APC Oyo State.

In his opening remarks, Oyo State APC Publicity Secretary and Secretary of the BSA Media and Publicity Team, Mr. Olawale Sadare, commended the coordinator and members of the movement for organising the programme. The Coordinator, Hon. Yomi Olajide, popularly known as Royal Umbrella, in his presentation titled “What is Sharafite Movement?”, explained the purpose of the movement and its role in complementing the activities of APC candidates, from President Tinubu at the national level to Senator Alli and other APC candidates in Oyo State.

Chief Demola Babalola, former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council and Deputy Director of Media and Publicity of the BSA campaign, described Senator Alli as an experienced political figure with grassroots connections and said his campaign was focused on taking Oyo State forward.

A major highlight of the programme was a session on Media Engagement, Communication Strategy and Social Media Management, featuring Bisi Oladele, Director of Media and Publicity, BSA; Olawoyin Edris, Media Consultant; and Hon. Sola Abegunde, Publicist. The session examined effective communication, media management and digital engagement in political activities, while an interactive session allowed participants to discuss practical approaches to communicating the programmes and activities of President Tinubu, Senator Alli, APC and other party candidates.
