Hon. (Dr.) Dawood Akanni Olalere, popularly known as D-Al-Ameen, the ADC candidate for the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North-West/South-West Federal Constituency, has officially flagged off his campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The campaign flag-off took place on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at UMC Primary School, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, with party leaders, supporters, candidates and stakeholders in attendance.
Olalere, while addressing the gathering, saluted leaders across the federal constituency and the ADC, and acknowledged the House of Assembly candidates for Ibadan North-West, Ibadan South-West I and Ibadan South-West II State Constituencies. He also called for unity and collective support for all candidates of the party.
The House of Assembly member representing Ibadan North-West State Constituency said his antecedents and performance in the Oyo State House of Assembly qualified him to seek election to the House of Representatives while he is the only ADC member of the House of Assembly in the South-West Region of Nigeria, stressing that his legislative experience would enable him to deliver effective representation at the federal level.
According to him, his agenda for the Ibadan North-West/South-West Federal Constituency will be anchored on quality representation, livelihood, security and empowerment. He noted that these areas had formed part of his activities as a state legislator and pledged to sustain and expand them if elected to the National Assembly.
Olalere further promised to make adequate constituency projects a major priority, saying his approach would focus on immediate and practical community development. He maintained that constituency projects should respond directly to the needs of the people and contribute meaningfully to improving their living conditions.
On accessibility, D-Al-Ameen assured constituents that he would remain available to them if elected. He said, “I have been available and I will always be available because I love the people and the people love me,” reaffirming his commitment to grassroots engagement and people-oriented representation.
The ADC candidate also urged supporters to conduct their campaign peacefully, declaring that the 2027 election season should not be about violence. He called for a house-to-house campaign and voter sensitisation, particularly on the programmes and policies of the ADC, whose symbol is the handshake.
Speaking on his achievements and commitment to empowering constituents, Olalere disclosed that 150 persons had secured state government jobs while many have been empowered, presenting it as part of his efforts to improve the livelihoods and opportunities available to people within his constituency.
As part of the campaign flag-off, D-Al-Ameen also announced a donation of ₦100,000 to each of the 23 wards within the federal constituency, further urging residents and party supporters to mobilise massively for the ADC.
He called on the electorate to support and vote for all ADC candidates in the January 16, 2027 general election and the February 6, 2027 governorship election, including Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, ADC Presidential Candidate, and Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke FCA, ADC Governorship Candidate for Oyo State.
Olalere concluded by urging party members and supporters to remain united, peaceful and committed to voter mobilisation, expressing confidence that a strong grassroots campaign would deliver victory for the ADC across the federal constituency and Oyo State.
