…Platform Documents Mogajis, Ancestral Compounds, Family Lineages and Traditions
Mogaji Toki Compound, Ayeye, Ibadan, Mogaji Luqman Okedina, has championed the preservation of Ibadan’s rich cultural heritage through the creation of an online heritage platform dedicated to the Mogajis of Ibadanland.
The digital portal, Mogajis of Ibadanland, was designed to document and showcase distinguished Mogajis, ancestral compounds, family lineages, traditions and historical stories that form an integral part of Ibadan’s identity.
The initiative provides Ibadan indigenes, residents, researchers, historians and younger generations, as well as members of the global Ibadan community, with an opportunity to explore and connect with the rich heritage of Ilẹ̀ Olúyọ̀lé.
According to the initiative’s promoters, the platform captures important aspects of Ibadan heritage, from Agbo Ilé to the histories of traditional leaders and family lineages.
The project, proudly sponsored by Mogaji Luqman Okedina, Mogaji Toki, brings technology and cultural preservation together at a time when historical knowledge and oral traditions risk being lost.
The platform is also expected to serve as an educational and enlightening resource for anyone interested in understanding the history, people, compounds and traditional institutions of Ibadanland.
The initiative underscores the importance of preserving Ibadan’s heritage for present and future generations.
