Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke FCA, Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland and 2027 African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, has felicitated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of this year’s Maolud Nabiyy.
Maolud Nabiyy, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad, falls on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, corresponding to the 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal 1448 AH.
Adegoke, in his Maolud message, urged Muslims to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad, stressing that the occasion should inspire greater commitment to peace, love, compassion, justice and service to humanity.
He said, “As we celebrate the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad, I extend my warmest felicitations to our Muslim brothers and sisters across Nigeria and beyond. This is a moment to reflect on the exemplary life, teachings and virtues of the Prophet.”
According to him, the values demonstrated by Prophet Muhammad remained relevant to the challenges confronting Nigeria, particularly the need for peaceful coexistence, tolerance, honesty, compassion and responsible leadership.
Adegoke said, “The teachings of Prophet Muhammad remind us of the importance of justice, compassion, humility, peaceful coexistence and concern for the less privileged. These are values that we must continue to uphold if we are to build the Nigeria of our collective dreams.”
He also called on Nigerians to place national interest above personal, ethnic, religious and political considerations, saying unity remained essential to the progress and development of the country.
“At this important time in our national life, I urge all Nigerians to embrace one another with love and understanding. We must reject division and work together for a peaceful, prosperous and inclusive Nigeria where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive,” he added.
The ADC governorship candidate further urged Muslims to use the occasion to pray for peace, stability and prosperity in Nigeria, while encouraging leaders to govern with fairness, accountability and compassion.
Adegoke said, “May the blessings of Maolud Nabiyy bring peace to our homes, communities and nation. May Almighty Allah accept our prayers, strengthen our faith and guide our leaders to govern with wisdom, justice and compassion.”
He wished Muslims a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Maolud Nabiyy celebration, urging them to continue to demonstrate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad through their words and actions.
