The Oyo State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, who is also Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, has inaugurated a 25-member campaign council ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The inauguration took place on Monday at the candidate’s campaign office in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, with Adebayo Olusola Kesh, Esq., appointed as Director-General of the campaign council.

Speaking at the ceremony, Adegoke said the 2027 election should focus on finding practical solutions to the challenges confronting the people of Oyo State.

He pledged that, if elected governor, his administration would prioritise inclusive governance, accountability and grassroots development across the state’s 33 local government areas.
Adegoke also promised to grant full autonomy to local governments, saying empowered councils would be better positioned to deliver development and essential services to residents at the grassroots.
He identified agriculture, electricity, youth employment and investment attraction as major pillars of his proposed development agenda.
According to him, his administration would boost agricultural production, attract investors into the power sector, improve electricity supply and create more employment opportunities for young people.
Adegoke said he would also address the growing number of out-of-school children in the state through targeted interventions designed to ensure that every child of school age has access to quality and affordable education.
He said, “I will boost agriculture and bring in investors to provide electricity for the people of the state and ensure employment opportunities for the youths.”
The newly inaugurated campaign council is expected to coordinate the ADC’s mobilisation, strategic engagement and campaign activities across the three senatorial districts.
