

The Oyo State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, who is also Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, has inaugurated a 25-member campaign council ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The inauguration took place on Monday at the candidate’s campaign office in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, with Adebayo Olusola Kesh, Esq., appointed as Director-General of the campaign council.


Speaking at the ceremony, Adegoke said the 2027 election should focus on finding practical solutions to the challenges confronting the people of Oyo State.

He pledged that, if elected governor, his administration would prioritise inclusive governance, accountability and grassroots development across the state’s 33 local government areas.
Adegoke also promised to grant full autonomy to local governments, saying empowered councils would be better positioned to deliver development and essential services to residents at the grassroots.
He identified agriculture, electricity, youth employment and investment attraction as major pillars of his proposed development agenda.
According to him, his administration would boost agricultural production, attract investors into the power sector, improve electricity supply and create more employment opportunities for young people.
Adegoke said he would also address the growing number of out-of-school children in the state through targeted interventions designed to ensure that every child of school age has access to quality and affordable education.
He said, “I will boost agriculture and bring in investors to provide electricity for the people of the state and ensure employment opportunities for the youths.”
The newly inaugurated campaign council is expected to coordinate the ADC’s mobilisation, strategic engagement and campaign activities across the three senatorial districts.
Among those appointed are Hon. Oyetunji Oyetunde as Deputy Director-General; Hon. Afees Jimoh Ona-Ara as Special Adviser on Inter-Party Relations; Hon. Remi Abidogun as Special Adviser on Reconciliation and Harmonisation; Alhaja Kafilat Omolabake Olayiwola, popularly known as Aje-Iya, as Director of Women Affairs; and Hon. Yemi Amodu as Director of Media and Publicity.
Others include Hon. Kazeem Alarape Elesude as Director of Logistics, Security and Protocol; Babatunde Adisa as Director of Strategy and Elections Management; Gbenga Omoyemi as Director of Contacts and Mobilisation; Kehinde Najeemdeen as Youth Coordinator; Saheed Olaide as Solutions Vanguard Coordinator; and Adeleke Quadri Abidemi as Students Coordinator.
Ola Folarin was named Oyo Central Coordinator, while Hon. Wale Afolabi, popularly known as Waco, was appointed Oyo South Coordinator. The Oyo North Coordinator is yet to be announced.
Members of the campaign council pledged to work together to secure victory for the ADC in the 2027 election, describing Adegoke as a candidate with the vision and grassroots connection to provide practical solutions to the challenges facing the state.
