Oyo State Governor and Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, has said the party will collaborate with other opposition parties in Nigeria to provide a credible political alternative to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Makinde stated this in a message congratulating leaders of the APM who emerged at the party’s National Convention held in Bauchi State. He particularly congratulated his political ally, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, on his emergence as the National Leader of the APM.
The Oyo State governor also expressed appreciation to the people and government of Bauchi State for hosting delegates, leaders and supporters of the party from across the country, describing their hospitality and support as commendable.
According to Makinde, the APM has, within a short period, positioned itself as an opposition party capable of playing a significant role in Nigeria’s political landscape. He said the party’s immediate responsibility was to build strategic partnerships with other opposition forces towards presenting Nigerians with a credible alternative in 2027.
“As I said in my remarks, in just a short time, we have emerged as an opposition party to reckon with. Our task is to ensure that we work with other opposition parties in Nigeria to present a credible alternative for Nigerians in the 2027 general election,” Makinde said.
He reiterated his commitment to the APM’s presidential project and urged party leaders and members to remain united and focused as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
