The Oyo State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Oloye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke, FCA, has expressed confidence in the party’s victory in the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, urging members and supporters to remain vigilant throughout the electoral process.

Adegoke gave the assurance while joining ADC leaders, candidates and supporters at the mega rally organised for the party’s Osun governorship candidate, Dr. Najeem Salaam, at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo.

Addressing the gathering, the Oyo ADC governorship candidate said he had come to Osun to convey goodwill messages from Oyo State and demonstrate solidarity with the party’s candidate.

“I bring goodwill messages from Oyo State. We are here to support our brother, IWALOYE, to support you, to win the election. ADC is going to win on Saturday,” Adegoke told the crowd.
He, however, urged party members to be particularly vigilant during the sorting and counting of votes, stressing the need for them to carefully monitor the process at their respective polling units.

He consequently advised ADC members to pay close attention to the handling and sorting of ballot papers and to ensure that votes cast for the party were properly accounted for.
“You must be wise. When they start sorting the votes, whoever they say, whoever they point at, are your eyes open?” he asked supporters.
The ADC chieftain urged members to remain peaceful but firm in protecting the integrity of their votes, emphasising that every ballot cast should be properly accounted for in accordance with electoral procedures.
He repeatedly charged the supporters to remain at their polling units, monitor the voting and counting processes and speak up through lawful channels whenever they observed irregularities.
Adegoke also led the crowd in chants of solidarity for the ADC, with supporters responding enthusiastically to his call for unity and commitment ahead of the election.

The mega rally attracted the national leadership of the ADC, led by former Senate President Senator David Mark, with Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola serving as Secretary, alongside the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who joined the national campaign activities in Osun.

The event provided a major platform for the ADC to mobilise supporters ahead of the August 15 governorship election and rally support for its candidate, Dr. Najeem Salaam.

Adegoke was accompanied from Oyo State by members of the state executive, including the ADC House of Representatives candidate for Ibadan North-West/South-West Federal Constituency, Aare Hon. Dr. Dawood Olalere D-Al-Ameen, the only ADC member in the Oyo State House of Assembly, as well as members of Team Solutions.
Speaking further, Adegoke expressed confidence that the mobilisation witnessed in Osun would translate into electoral success for the ADC.
He urged party members to stand firm, remain united and protect their votes through lawful means, stressing that the party was determined to secure victory at the polls.
