Ibadan North House of Representatives hopeful, Hon. Adekunle Adebayo, popularly known as 30-30, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his loyalty to former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Hazeem Gbolarunmi, despite losing the party’s primary election to Hon. Soji Alade, popularly known as S.O.J.
In a statement made available to journalists, Adebayo described the primary election as a family affair conducted within the democratic framework of the PDP, stressing that the outcome would not affect his dedication to the party and its leadership.
According to him, politics should be guided by maturity, loyalty, and the collective interest of the party rather than personal ambition.
“I may have lost the primary election to Hon. Soji Alade S.O.J, but my commitment to our great party, the PDP, remains absolute. I believe strongly in the unity and progress of the party, and I will continue to support every effort aimed at strengthening our structure ahead of future elections,” he stated.
Hon. Adebayo further reiterated his steadfast loyalty to former Deputy Governor, Barrister Hazeem Gbolarunmi, whom he described as a leader with immense political experience and a strong passion for the development of party members and the state at large.
“My loyalty remains with His Excellency, Barrister Hazeem Gbolarunmi. He has continued to demonstrate leadership, wisdom, and commitment to the growth of the PDP and the people. I remain proud to associate with his leadership ideals,” Adebayo added.
The Ibadan North politician also congratulated Hon. Soji Alade on his victory at the primary election and urged party supporters to remain united in the interest of the PDP.
Political observers believe Adebayo’s reaction reflects growing calls for unity and reconciliation within the party as stakeholders continue preparations for future political contests in Oyo State.
