National Councillors Forum Oyo State Chapter Ex-councillors who served across local governments in Oyo State between 2021 and 2024 (Omituntun 1.0) have declared their support for the proposed presidential ambition of Seyi Makinde and the governorship aspiration of Adekanmbi under the emerging PDP-APM alliance.
The forum made their position known during the PDP-APM Unity Mega Rally held at Mapo Hall, where party loyalists, political stakeholders and supporters gathered in large numbers to canvass support for what they described as a “new political direction” for Oyo State and Nigeria.
In an endorsement statement issued by the coordinator of the group, Hon. Muili Kazeem Arowodana, the Ex Forum Chairman said Governor Makinde has demonstrated visionary leadership, infrastructural development and people-oriented governance worthy of higher national responsibility.
According to Arowodana, the group resolved to fully mobilise support across the 33 local government areas of the state for Makinde’s presidential ambition, describing him as a competent and courageous leader capable of repositioning Nigeria.
The ex-councillors also expressed strong support for Adekanmbi’s governorship bid, noting that his political experience, administrative capacity and grassroots connection make him a suitable successor to continue the developmental strides being witnessed in Oyo State.
They called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Allied People’s Movement to remain united and committed to the success of the coalition ahead of future elections.
The group further urged youths, women and grassroots party faithful to actively participate in the ongoing mobilisation efforts aimed at strengthening the PDP-APM alliance across the state.
The rally at Mapo witnessed the attendance of political leaders, party executives, supporters and various interest groups who reiterated their commitment to the “Reset Nigeria Movement” championed by Governor Makinde and other coalition leaders.
