Hon. Oluwatobi John Ogunbayo (OJO), a Federal House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, has congratulated Hon. (Chief) Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe on his nomination as Minister of Power by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement released on Thursday, Ogunbayo described Tegbe’s nomination as “well-deserved and strategically significant,” noting that it reflects a growing recognition of competence and proven leadership within Nigeria’s political space.

He said Tegbe’s emergence is a testament to his years of professional excellence, administrative experience, and consistent service, particularly in areas critical to national development.

According to Ogunbayo, the power sector remains central to Nigeria’s economic transformation, stressing that industrial growth, small and medium-scale enterprise (SME) expansion, and job creation are closely tied to reforms in electricity generation, transmission, and distribution.

He expressed confidence that Tegbe would bring innovation-driven leadership, policy stability, and result-oriented reforms capable of repositioning the sector for sustainable development.

The aspirant further linked the nomination to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu, describing it as a reflection of the administration’s commitment to deploying capable individuals across key sectors to drive governance efficiency and institutional reforms.

Ogunbayo also used the opportunity to call for unity among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and across the country. He urged party stakeholders to strengthen grassroots mobilization and internal cohesion ahead of future political engagements.

“As we celebrate this milestone, we must remain focused on building a stronger party structure, deepening engagement with the people, and working collectively toward consolidating political leadership in Oyo State,” he stated.

He reaffirmed his commitment to people-centered representation and legislative advocacy, pledging to advance the interests of constituents in Ibadan North-West and Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency.

Ogunbayo concluded by wishing Tegbe success in his new role, expressing optimism that his tenure would contribute to achieving stable, affordable, and reliable electricity supply in Nigeria.
