The Mayegun Babanumi Mandate Group has called for fairness and justice in the race for the Ibadan North West/Ibadan South West Federal Constituency seat, declaring Hon. Sunday Olusegun Babanumi as its preferred candidate.
In a statement issued in Ibadan on Tuesday, the group stressed the need for equity in the process leading to the party’s nomination.
“Commitment is key for consideration,” the group stated, noting that Babanumi’s loyalty and consistent support for the party over the years—both in challenging and favourable times—stand him out.
The group expressed confidence in his capacity to deliver quality representation, reaffirming his loyalty to the PDP and describing his public record as clean and commendable.
It further highlighted his longstanding contributions to the community, including empowerment initiatives, financial support for the less privileged, and a principled stance against injustice, even before declaring his political ambition.
According to the group, Babanumi’s character in both private and public life remains unblemished despite years of active community service and political involvement.
“Mayegun Babanumi is the preferred choice of Ibadan North West and Ibadan South West Federal Constituency. We demand a process rooted in justice, equity, and reward for loyalty,” the statement concluded.
