A coalition of former Local Government political functionaires, both electives and appointees in Oyo State has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for what they described as his strides in good governance, party stability, and a sustainability-driven leadership agenda.
The group, comprising key officeholders who served between 2021 and 2024 across various local government structures, expressed their appreciation in a joint statement made available. They praised the governor’s consistent efforts in strengthening democratic values and maintaining cohesion within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
The former functionaires particularly highlighted the recent consultative stakeholders’ meeting convened by the governor, describing it as a strategic platform for consensus building and inclusive decision-making within the party. According to them, the initiative has further reinforced unity and trust among party leaders and members across the state.
They also lauded Governor Makinde for his gestures of appreciation to both serving and former party stakeholders, noting that such acts have boosted morale and encouraged continued loyalty to the administration and the PDP structure in Oyo State.
In addition, the group applauded the governor’s role in deepening democracy in Nigeria, referencing his involvement in the recent opposition summit, which they said demonstrated courage, leadership, and a commitment to national political balance.
Reaffirming their allegiance, the former appointees declared their total support for Governor Makinde, his administration, and his governance philosophy, pledging to remain active contributors to the growth and success of the party in the state.
However, while expressing their support, the group appealed to the governor to prioritize the fulfilment of commitments and pledges made to them during and after their tenure in office. They emphasized the need for continued engagement and support for their members, many of whom they said remain dedicated to the party’s progress at the grassroots level.

Arabambi, Chairman of Secretaries to Local Governments (2021–2024); Hon. Adetunji Wareez Ajetunmobi (Aje), Special Assistant (2021–2024 set); and Hon. Oludaye Olusegun Omogbolahan, Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Chiefs of Staff Forum (2021–2024 set).
The group concluded by reiterating their readiness to support policies and programs that will further advance development and political stability in Oyo State.
