A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan NorthWest Local Government, Distinguished Olumuyiwa Olusegun Samson, popularly known as Distinguished Samfashions , has officially declared his ambition to contest for the position of Chairman of Ibadan NorthWest Local Government.
Hon. Olusegun Samson, who hails from Ekotedo Ward 7 who’s former Supervisory Councilor for youth and sports and currently serves as Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Ibadan NorthWest Local Government, made his declaration during a meeting with his ward stakeholders and party executive officers of Ward 7 Ibadan Northwest local government.
The declaration was greeted with enthusiasm as party stakeholders commended his political maturity, leadership qualities, and commitment to grassroots development. They also assured him of their full support ahead of the party’s internal processes.
Speaking during the gathering, some prominent stakeholders, including Hon. Akeem Ogun, Ex-Officio 1, and Hon. (Prince) Lateef Jaiyeoba Letua, a former councillor, praised Hon. Olusegun Samson for what they described as his consistent delivery of democratic dividends in both previous and present positions of responsibility.
Also lending her voice, the PDP Women Leader in the local government, Hon. Folashade Adenekan, applauded the aspiration of Hon. Olusegun Samson, describing it as a welcome development for Ward 7 and the wider local government.
She said his decision would bring renewed hope and more developmental opportunities to the grassroots community.
Hon. Olusegun Samson expressed gratitude to the stakeholders, party leaders, and residents for the warm reception and encouragement.
He pledged not to disappoint God, the people, and the community if given the opportunity to serve, promising inclusive leadership and continued commitment to the progress of Ibadan NorthWest Local Government.
