Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, witnessed a major political gathering on Sunday as key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) converged for the official unveiling of the PBAT AGAIN 2027 state secretariat, a support platform mobilising for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The event, held at Oke-Bola, Ibadan, attracted party leaders, elected officials, and political stakeholders across Oyo State, signalling growing momentum within APC structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The initiative was spearheaded by the state convener of the group, Ambassador Kunle Adeleke, who also serves as the President’s State Chief of Protocol. He described the project as a strategic platform aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation, political coordination, and continuity of governance reforms.

Adeleke said the unveiling went beyond a physical structure, stressing that it represents a “shared conviction for continuity, stability, and national development.” According to him, PBAT AGAIN 2027 is designed to consolidate existing reforms and sustain governance outcomes beyond the current administration.

“PBAT AGAIN 2027 is not just a slogan, but a deliberate call to deepen reforms, strengthen governance outcomes, and ensure Nigeria’s development trajectory remains steady,” he said.

He added that the new secretariat would serve as a hub for coordination, engagement, and grassroots political organisation across Oyo State.

The Oyo State Coordinator of the group, Alhaji Olatunde Sunmonu, described the development as a landmark step in strengthening support for the president in the state. He noted that the office would function as a centre for mobilisation, policy engagement, and consultation on the achievements of the current administration.

Sunmonu also commended Adeleke for what he described as visionary leadership in establishing the initiative.

The Oyo State Chairman of the APC, Alake Adeyemo, also welcomed the development, urging party members to intensify mobilisation efforts ahead of the next election cycle.

In his remarks, Senator Fatai Buhari praised the initiative, describing it as a call for greater civic responsibility and participation in governance, beyond political appointments.

Similarly, APC chieftain and governorship aspirant, Barrister Akeem Agbaje, emphasized unity within the party, warning against internal divisions and stressing the need for credible candidates and collective effort to secure electoral success.

Other notable figures present included Senator Sarafadeen Alli (Oyo South), Hon. Akeem Adeyemi (Skimeh), Senator Hosea Agboola, Hon. Fatai Adeshina, Hon. Muraina Saubana, representatives of former Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu, Senator Yunus Akintunde, and leaders of various community groups, including Dr. James Oramadike of the Igbo community in Oyo State.

They all commended the initiative, describing it as a strategic move to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and consolidate support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid, while also noting its potential impact on political organisation in Oyo State and beyond.
