Member of the House of Representatives representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Hon. Remi Oseni, has officially declared his ambition to contest for the Oyo South Senatorial seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC), boldly declaring: “Because I can win.”
Oseni made the statement during his declaration event held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the Ibadan Recreation Club, Ibadan, where party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters from across Oyo State gathered in large numbers.
The federal lawmaker, who also serves as Chairman of the House Committee on FERMA, said his decision to enter the senatorial race was based on his proven political strength, grassroots acceptance, and ability to secure victory for the APC in Oyo South.
“My candidacy is therefore based on the conviction that I can win,” Oseni said to loud applause from supporters.
He explained that his ambition goes beyond politics, stressing that his mission is to deliver purposeful representation and accelerated development across the senatorial district.
“I want to win the 2027 Oyo South Senatorial election for justice. I want to win it for better schools, educational scholarships, better jobs, health care for all, and opportunities for youth and women through empowerment,” he stated.
Oseni also assured party members that the APC remains stronger when united, calling on stakeholders to work together ahead of the next general elections.
“If we remain united, we will win together. If we stand together, we will rise together. If we work together, we will build our party together,” he said.
Speaking on his loyalty to the party, the lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC’s national agenda.
“My commitment and loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda remain unwavering, non-negotiable and sacrosanct,” he declared.
Oseni further expressed confidence that the APC would emerge victorious in Oyo South, saying the groundwork for success had already been laid.
“Our road to victory is clear. Our road is already structured, and we are unstoppable. We are not speculating, we are preparing,” he said.
