The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, has once again flagged off the distribution of solar-powered streetlights to communities across the local government, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development and public safety.
The symbolic distribution ceremony took place at the Local Government Secretariat in Akanran, where the initiative was formally unveiled to the public. The event was witnessed by a former Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government and current Full-Time Commissioner with the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Taiwo Akeem Oke, who commended the chairman’s continuous efforts toward grassroots development.
Also present at the event were the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Hon. Isiaka Arinola, representatives of the Supervisory Councillors, and Special Assistants to the Chairman, alongside other key stakeholders.
Speaking during the flag-off, Dr. GLORIOUS emphasized that the distribution of solar streetlights is part of his administration’s broader agenda to enhance security, promote economic activities at night, and improve the overall standard of living in Ona Ara communities.
He noted that the initiative aligns with his administration’s developmental blueprint, particularly in the area of infrastructure and community welfare, assuring residents that more impactful projects will continue to be delivered across the local government.
The distribution of the solar streetlights is expected to significantly boost visibility in underserved areas, reduce crime, and support local businesses by extending productive hours within the communities.
