Hon. Innocent “Tallest,” Senior Special Adviser to Seyi Makinde on Community Relations (Igbo Community), has reaffirmed the unwavering support of the Igbo community in Oyo State for the governor, dismissing recent impeachment rumours as baseless and politically motivated.

Tallest made this known during a strategic meeting with leaders and stakeholders of the Igbo community across the state, where he emphasized unity, peace, and continued collaboration with the administration of Governor Makinde.

He described the alleged impeachment plot as “a distraction that does not reflect the reality on ground,” urging residents to remain focused on the developmental strides recorded under the current administration.

In a show of solidarity and spiritual support, Tallest revealed that he had earlier organized a special prayer session at First African Church Mission Ekotedo, dedicated to the well-being, wisdom, and continued success of Governor Makinde.
According to him, the session brought together faithful who offered intercessory prayers for divine guidance, protection, and strength for the governor amid political distractions.
Similarly, during the meeting, Igbo leaders also led multiple prayer sessions, committing the governor and the state into God’s hands. The prayers focused on sustained peace, stability, and progress in Oyo State, as well as the success of the current administration.
Speaking at the meeting, Tallest stressed that the Igbo community, as critical stakeholders in Oyo State’s economic and social landscape, remains committed to supporting Makinde’s vision.
He noted that the administration has promoted inclusiveness, improved infrastructure, and sustained a peaceful environment that encourages business growth and coexistence among diverse ethnic groups.
“The Igbo community in Oyo State stands firmly with Governor Makinde. We reject any attempt to create unnecessary tension through rumours and political propaganda,” Tallest stated.
Tallest urged political actors and residents to avoid actions capable of destabilizing the state, emphasizing that Oyo State has continued to enjoy relative peace under Makinde’s leadership.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous resolution by notable Igbo leaders and stakeholders to continue backing the governor while promoting unity and resisting divisive narratives.
