A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has clarified that the party has not yet produced a candidate for the 2027 Oyo State governorship election, urging members to disregard premature claims of consensus.

The aspirant made this known during a party meeting held in Ibadan South West Local Government Area of Oyo State, where party faithful and stakeholders gathered to deliberate on ongoing political developments.

Addressing attendees, the aspirant stated unequivocally that the APC’s position remains unchanged, noting that no governorship candidate has been officially endorsed. According to him, the process will only be concluded when all aspirants reach a consensus that is duly ratified and communicated by the party leadership.

He further reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, emphasizing his commitment to the party irrespective of the eventual outcome of the governorship race.

The aspirant stressed the importance of inclusiveness and unity at this critical stage, urging that the selection process must accommodate all interests while ensuring that whoever emerges is prepared to work collaboratively with stakeholders to drive development across the state.

Reiterating his dedication to the advancement of Oyo State, he called on his supporters to remain calm, focused, and respectful of the party’s internal mechanisms, adding that party supremacy must be upheld at all times.

He also encouraged party members to continue working collectively to strengthen the APC across all levels, describing the party as a shared platform that thrives on unity and cooperation.

While expressing optimism about his chances, the aspirant said he remains hopeful of emerging as the party’s governorship candidate once the process is concluded.
