
The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, on Friday, April 10, officially commissioned the newly constructed Irewole Agboluaje Alare Thywill Market alongside a modern Okada/Marwa Park, in a move aimed at boosting local commerce, enhancing environmental orderliness, and promoting community development.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Dr. GLORIOUS expressed profound appreciation to the facilitator of the project, Alhaji Isiaka Agboluaje Ishola, for his innovative initiative and commitment to grassroots development. He noted that the establishment of the market and designated transport park would significantly address the challenges of roadside trading and indiscriminate parking along the Thywill Junction axis.
According to the Chairman, the project is strategically designed to relocate traders, as well as Okada and Marwa operators, from the busy roadside into a more organized and secure environment. He emphasized that the initiative will not only enhance traffic flow but also promote unity, safety, and economic growth within the community.
Dr. GLORIOUS further urged all Okada and Marwa riders to make effective use of the newly provided park, stressing that compliance will ensure sustainability and maximum benefit of the project for all stakeholders.
The commissioning ceremony attracted several dignitaries, including former Local Government Chairman and Full-Time Commissioner, Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Taiwo Oke; the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaja Ojewumi; the CEO of G-Gapital Hotel, Alhaji Yakubu Giwa; the Director of Finance, and other notable personalities.
In his remarks, the facilitator, Alhaji Isiaka Agboluaje Ishola, expressed gratitude to Dr. GLORIOUS for the opportunity and support extended to him in bringing the project to fruition. He offered prayers for the Chairman and commended his unwavering commitment to infrastructural development and the overall progress of Ona Ara Local Government.
The commissioning marks yet another milestone in the administration’s drive to deliver people-oriented projects and improve the standard of living across Ona Ara communities.
