The screening exercise for PDP Federal House of Representatives aspirants for Ibadan NorthWest and Ibadan SouthWest Federal Constituency took place yesterday, 8th April, 2026, at the PDP State Headquarters in Oyo State, along Oke Ado road in Ibadan, Oyo State. Mayegun Sunday Olusegun Babanumi among three other aspirants for the post of House of Representatives for Ibadan NorthWest and Ibadan SouthWest Federal Constituency registered for the exercise.
The atmosphere at the event turned the venue into a carnival-like setting with the appearance of Mayegun Sunday Olusegun Babanumi and his teeming supporters, numbering over one thousand, lining the entire stretch of Oke-Ado road, in the mega city of Ibadan, to the venue of the screening exercise at the PDP Secretariat. Mayegun Babanumi’s supporters, cheered their leader’s candidacy, confirming his popularity and acceptance by the electorate, especially in the Ibadan NorthWest and Ibadan SouthWest Federal Constituency.
The screening committee had to seek Mayegun Babanumi’s support in reducing the singing and dancing by his supporters prior to the commencement of the screening exercise. The exercise was successful, as all aspiring candidates were attended to by the committee.
Mayegun Babanumi later departed the venue with his supporters and converged at the UMC school field, where he addressed them and assured them of his commitment to give them good representation if eventually nominated to fly the flag of the PDP for the Ibadan NorthWest and Ibadan SouthWest Federal Constituency.
