As the month of April begins, Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo (RAD), a leading aspirant for the Oyo State House of Assembly, has reaffirmed her readiness to serve the people of Lagelu, while passionately renewing her appeal for increased women participation in politics.
RAD described April as a season of renewed hope, fresh opportunities, and deeper commitment to service. She expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life and the continued support of the people, particularly across communities in Lagelu Local Government.
The PDP stalwart emphasized that her aspiration to represent Lagelu at the state assembly is rooted in a genuine desire to build on existing progress and deliver more responsive, people-centered governance.
“I welcome everyone into the new month of April with a heart full of gratitude and hope. This is a time to renew our collective commitment to the growth and development of Lagelu. I remain fully prepared and deeply committed to serve our people with dedication and integrity,” RAD stated.
She noted that her engagement with grassroots stakeholders, including women, youths, artisans, and community leaders, has further strengthened her resolve to pursue inclusive representation that reflects the needs of all.
Beyond her declaration of readiness, RAD once again used the moment to advocate for greater inclusion of women in the political space. She called on party leaders, stakeholders, and decision-makers to take bold and intentional steps toward ensuring that more women are given opportunities to contest and occupy elective positions.
According to her, true development cannot be achieved without the active participation of women in governance, stressing that their voices, perspectives, and contributions are essential to balanced policymaking.
RAD also appealed to key leaders within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including allies of Governor Seyi Makinde, to demonstrate stronger commitment to gender inclusion by supporting credible female aspirants across all levels.
“This new month should inspire us to do more than speak about inclusion. It is time to act. I humbly appeal to our leaders and stakeholders to continue to support and encourage women who are ready to serve. Together, we can build a more inclusive and progressive political system,” she said.
She further offered prayers for unity within the party, peaceful coexistence among the people, and divine wisdom for leaders at all levels, expressing optimism that April would usher in greater cooperation and political advancement in Oyo State.
Reiterating her vision for Lagelu, RAD assured constituents that her leadership, if given the mandate, would prioritize effective legislation, grassroots engagement, and sustainable development initiatives that directly impact the lives of the people.
