A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan North-West Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Bankole Fasuyi, is to formally resigned his membership from the party l to advance his political career on the platform of Accord Party.
In a resignation letter addressed to the Ward 10 chairman reports reaching us to be tendered to the party tomorrow, Fasuyi stated that his decision was influenced by what he described as lingering crisis within the political space which has grossly affected the PDP and the persistence of same which he said made it necessary for him to explore new political opportunities.
The former party member, however, expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the PDP for the support and opportunities he enjoyed during his time in the party. He noted that his stay in the party was memorable and rewarding.
Fasuyi specifically conveyed his respect and gratitude to the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, whom he described as his party leader and mentor, acknowledging the guidance he received during his stay in the PDP.
He further assured the party leadership that despite his decision to resign from the party , he will continue to maintain a cordial relationship with members of the PDP both now and in the future.
The Online Register of Members of Political Parties and would be contestants is expected to be submitted and updated with INEC between April 2 and April 22 of this year following which Primaries are expected to take place in various parties by either Direct Primaries, Indirect Primaries and Concensus Candidacy, Hon. Banky hence moves ahead to beat this deadlines and work towards securing a space to Contest in Accord hopefully for the Federal House of Assembly Representative for Ibadan Northwest/ Southwest, he is optimistic that he should be able to clinch this ticket all things being equal.
