A political advocacy group, Return of Adelabu Penkelemesi 2027, has cautioned stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State against actions and narratives that could disrupt the existing peace and unity in the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the group said it had observed recent political developments and media reports capable of heating up the polity, warning that such trends could undermine the fragile stability currently being maintained within the party.
The group acknowledged the important role of the media in shaping public discourse but urged journalists and commentators to avoid sensational or divisive reports that may fuel tension or create unnecessary factions within the APC in the state.

It also highlighted the growing political momentum within the party, noting the readiness of the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, to contest the 2027 Oyo State gubernatorial election under the platform of the APC.
According to the statement, insinuations and commentaries in some publications appear to be attempts to misrepresent ongoing political alignments and deepen divisions at a time when party leaders are working to strengthen unity and cohesion.
The group further reaffirmed its commitment to the return of Chief Adebayo Adelabu, expressing confidence in his emergence as the next governor of Oyo State in 2027, while emphasizing that such ambition must be pursued within a peaceful and united party structure.
It stressed that the APC in Oyo State remains focused on rebuilding its strength through inclusiveness, dialogue, and strategic engagement, with leaders and loyal members making efforts to resolve past misunderstandings in the interest of collective progress.
While calling for responsible conduct among political actors, the group urged party faithful to remain calm and committed to the shared goal of electoral victory in 2027, adding that unity and consolidation must take precedence over conflict and division.
The statement concluded by reaffirming the group’s dedication to promoting peace, strengthening internal democracy, and supporting credible leadership capable of repositioning the APC for future success.
The statement was jointly signed by the group’s Coordinator, Prince Omiyale Ademola, and its State Secretary, Comrade Toyinbo Ayanwusi.
