It is with profound heavy heart that I join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family, the good people of Lagos State, and the entire nation in mourning the painful departure of a true statesman, loyal party icon, and distinguished Nigerian, Prince Dr. Aderemi Charles Akitoye.

Dr. Akitoye was more than a PDP Chieftain in Lagos State; he was a pillar of strength, a committed democrat, and an embodiment of unwavering loyalty, wisdom, courage, and dedication to the ideals of good governance and party unity. His exemplary service as former Acting National Secretary of our great party, his membership on the Board of Trustees, and his earlier contributions as a Commissioner in Lagos State left an indelible mark on Nigerian politics.

He served with integrity, grace, and an admirable leadership style that inspired staff, colleagues, and party members alike.
From the revered Akitoye Royal Family, he carried himself with royal dignity while championing the cause of democracy and progress for all. His passing on March 17, 2026, leaves an irreparable void in our party, in Lagos politics, and in the hearts of all who knew him.

To his beloved family, the Akitoye Royal Family, the Lagos State Chapter of the PDP, and all who shared in his life and legacy, I extend my deepest condolences. May the Almighty God grant his gentle soul eternal rest in paradise and bestow upon you all the strength, comfort, and grace to bear this tremendous loss.

Rest in perfect peace, Prince Dr. Aderemi Charles Akitoye. Your contributions will forever be remembered, and your spirit will continue to guide those who strive for a better Nigeria.

Signed,
Prince Laja Adeoye, MPD
Lagos State Guber Aspirant, PDP
