As Oyo State marks its 50th anniversary, Hon. Oyeniyi Tunde Ibrahim has joined well-meaning citizens in celebrating the historic milestone, commending Governor Seyi Makinde for his leadership and congratulating the people of the state for their resilience, unity, and progress over the decades.
In a goodwill message released to commemorate the golden jubilee, Hon. Oyeniyi described the celebration as a moment of reflection on Oyo State’s journey, achievements, and prospects for a brighter future. He noted that the state’s growth in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development under the present administration has given citizens renewed confidence in governance.
“Oyo @ 50 is not just a celebration of age, but a celebration of growth, resilience, and hope. I commend His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for his visionary leadership and commitment to sustainable development. His efforts have placed Oyo State on a progressive path worthy of celebration,” Oyeniyi stated.
He further congratulated the people of Oyo State, particularly residents of Ibadan North-West Local Government Area, for their continuous support for peace, unity, and development. According to him, the strength of Oyo State lies in the collective spirit of its people, who have remained steadfast in promoting progress and harmony.
Hon. Oyeniyi emphasized that the 50th anniversary should serve as a call to renewed dedication to service, good governance, and inclusive development. He urged leaders at all levels to take inspiration from the milestone and work harder to improve the living standards of the people, especially the youth.
“The future of Oyo State depends on how well we invest in our youth, strengthen our institutions, and uphold transparency and accountability in governance. This celebration should motivate us to do more for our communities,” he added.
He concluded by wishing Oyo State many more years of peace, prosperity, and sustainable development, expressing optimism that the next chapter of the state’s history would be marked by greater opportunities, innovation, and unity among its people.
