Blockage of Roads: Local Government Did Not Authorize Any Individual or Group – Adepoju Reiterates

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North West Local Government, Alhaji Abdulrahman Olanrewaju Adepoju, has categorically stated that the Local Government has neither issued any certificate nor granted approval or directives to any individual or group to block roads within the Local Government Area.

The Chairman made this clarification while addressing stakeholders at the Peace and Security Meeting held at the Council Secretariat, Onireke.
He commended the various security agencies operating within the council area for their dedication, professionalism, and effectiveness in maintaining peace and order.

The Council  Boss further charged them to intensify surveillance and strengthen security networks across all communities in order to curb criminal activities and enhance public safety.

According to him, the security operatives have continued to perform commendably, prompting the administration’s commitment to providing the necessary support and co-operation to enable them discharge their duties efficiently.
Reacting to reports of the presence of hoodlums in some parts of the Local Government Area, the  Executive Chairman directed all concerned security authorities to take immediate and decisive action against any criminal elements threatening the peaceful coexistence of residents.

In their respective responses, the security operatives expressed appreciation to the Council Chairman for his unwavering support across their various divisions and reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining peace and security within Ibadan North West Local Government.
They emphasized that the responsibility of safeguarding lives and properties is a collective one, calling on community leaders and stakeholders to intensify enlightenment and sensitization programmes on security consciousness to further reduce criminal activities within the council area.

Present  at the meeting  were  Vice Chairman, the secretary, Chief of staff, Security operatives,Baale Onireke,CDC Chairman, CAN and Non- Indigene Representative.

Others were  the Ag HLGA, Director of  Administration and General services, Deputy Directors of Administration and  the Administrative  officer in charge of  security  matters.
