The Executive Chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Alhaji AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju, has been commended for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to grassroots development.
This commendation was made by the Chief Judge of Oyo State, Hon. Justice Iyabo Yerima during the foundation laying ceremony of Ibadan Northwest Local Government Magistrate Court, held at the Council Secretariat, Onireke, Ibadan.
Justice Yerima described the Chairman as a pragmatic and development-oriented leader whose actions reflect a deep concern for the needs of his people. She noted that “leadership is not about making noise but about delivering on promises and meeting the expectations of the people.” She lauded the Council Boss for keying into the vision of establishing a magistrate court within the local government.
The Chief Judge emphasized that the establishment of magistrate courts across all the 33 local governments in the state is a deliberate initiative of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde aimed at ensuring the justice system is accessible to citizens at the grassroots. She noted that magistrate courts play a crucial role in resolving domestic and community-level cases that directly impact society.
In his address, the Executive Chairman, Alh Abdulrahman Olanrewaju Adepoju, expressed deep appreciation for the presence and support of the Chief Judge, describing the event as both symbolic and historic. He affirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening institutions and promoting law and order through infrastructural development.
Earlier in her welcome remarks, the Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs. Rachael Olabode praised the Chief Judge for her tenacity and tireless efforts in bringing judicial infrastructure closer to the people.
In their separate goodwill messages, the Baale Onireke, Baale Fatai Bolaji Aare Latoosa and Alh Labule Ishola commended the initiative of His Excellency, Gov Seyi Makinde and the steadfastness of the Chief Judge in bringing laudable project to the grassroot level. They pledged the unflinching support of the residents of Ibadan North West Local Government on the actualization of the landmark project. They further acknowledged the Executive Chairman of the council for his remarkable contributions to the growth of the council area since his assumption of office.
Present at the program were the Vice Chairman and political Head of Okebadan North LCDA, Alh Ganiy Abiodun Omotosho, leader of the House Hon. Gbemileke Nelson,the secretary to the local government, Mrs Sarah shobowale, the Chief of Staff and Local Government PDP Chairman,Alh Kazeem Fantola, councilors, supervisory councilors and Special Assistants to the Executive Chairman.
Others were the Political stalwarts, entourage of the Chief Judge, Heads of departments, Deputy Directors and Heads of Units led by the Head of the Local government Administration Mrs Rachael Olabode.
The foundation laying of Ibadan Northwest Local Government Magistrate Court marks another milestone in the administration of Alhaji AbdulRahman Adepoju and a step forward in the pursuit of justice, peace and good governance in the Council Area
