The Office of the Executive Assistant on Security to Governor Seyi Makinde was filled with warmth and pride as a National Youth Service Corps member, Mr. Fadele Temiloluwa Michael, formally marked the end of his mandatory one year national assignment.
The brief celebration ceremony, held in the Office of Executive Assistant on Security Matters on Friday, December 5 amid fanfare and merriment.
The Executive Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Security Matters, CP Sunday Odukoya (rtd.), in his address said, it became a moment of recognition, gratitude and encouragement for a young man whose service left a lasting impression.
Overwhelmed with joy, dukoya described Fadele as a natural leader who earned the trust of everyone he worked with. He said it would have been wrong to allow such dedication to go unnoticed.
“He has been able to demonstrate the attributes of a natural leader. Let people know that he is worthy to be trusted.
“He has done his job tremendously well. It will be a bad thing for him to just come and serve and go like that without being celebrated,” Odukoya said.
To underline his admiration, the retired commissioner of police presented the corps member with a cash gift of ₦250,000 (two hundred and fifty thousand naira) and an official letter of recommendation, which he said would strengthen Fadele’s future H.
He said: “That is why I said he must be given a letter of recommendation to whom it may concern.
“This will add to his CV as a dependable and trusted hand in any establishment or organization he may find himself.”
In the recommendation letter, signed and released in his honour, Odukoya detailed Fadele’s conduct and performance during his service year.
The letter stated that Mr. Fadele Temiloluwa Michael, with NYSC column number NYSC-ACU-2024-400322-OY-24C-3867-C-22, served with the Department of Special Services and distinguished himself through discipline, dedication and leadership.
“During his period of service, I have had the opportunity to witness his character. He is respectful, trustworthy, exceptionally skilled, resilient, and unwaveringly dedicated to his duties.
“His presence in the office demonstrated an aura of positivity at all times,” the letter read.
It further described him as a collaborative worker with strong work ethics who enhanced productivity in the workplace, adding that his leadership qualities went beyond academic credentials.
“I am confident and have no doubt in mind in recommending Fadele, that he will bring the same level of excellence and dedication into any organization,” the letter concluded.
I’m his brief remark, the ongoing Corps member, Fadele expressed appreciation for the recognition and gifts presented to him noting that the gesture will spur him to strive for greatness and rededicate himself to being an efficient team player.
Other management staff, in their separate remarks, noted that the event offered a reminder that public service, even at the level of national youth service, can still be a place where character is seen and excellence is rewarded.
