The S A to the Oyo State Governor on Islamic Affairs, Alh. Imam AbdulRasheed AbdulAzeez, has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, for the successful hosting of the 2025 PDP Elective National Convention in Ibadan. He described the convention as a landmark event that further showcased Oyo State’s capacity to lead, organize, and set progressive standards within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Alhaji AbdulAzeez lauded Governor Makinde’s strategic leadership and his stabilizing influence on the party at the ward, state, zonal, and national levels.
According to him, the smooth conduct of the convention reflects the governor’s commitment to unity, internal democracy, and sustainable political development.
He further extended heartfelt congratulations to Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, who was elected as the new National Secretary of the PDP. AbdAzeez noted that the emergence of Ambassador Arapaja, former Deputy National Chairman (South) of the party is a testament to his long-standing dedication, wealth of experience, and outstanding service in various party assignments over the years.
Ambassador Arapaja, a former Deputy Governor of Oyo State and a prominent PDP chieftain from Ibadan Southeast, described as a worthy son of Oyo State whose elevation continues to bring pride to the state.
Sheikh AbdulAzeez expressed confidence that both Governor Makinde’s leadership and Ambassador Arapaja’s new role would further strengthen the PDP nationally and deepen the party’s commitment to good governance.
He also prayed for continued peace, unity, and progress within the party, urging members to rally behind its leadership for greater achievements ahead.
In addition, Alhaji AbdAzeez celebrated the entire newly elected National Working Committee (NWC) leadership of the PDP, congratulating them on their victory and urging them to uphold unity, transparency, and progressive ideals as they steer the party’s affairs.
He offered heartfelt prayers for Governor Makinde, Ambassador Arapaja, and the new PDP leadership, asking Almighty Allah to grant them wisdom, strength, and divine guidance in their responsibilities. He prayed for continuous peace, progress, and stability within the PDP and for the success of all efforts aimed at repositioning the party for future electoral victories.
Alhaji AbdAzeez encouraged all party members and stakeholders to remain united and supportive, emphasizing that collective commitment is essential for the sustained growth and advancement of the PDP.
