
The Youth Leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Oyo State Chapter, have reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty and commitment to the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde and the party’s progressive vision ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This resolution was part of the communiqué issued at the end of a strategic meeting held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the PDP State Secretariat, Molete, Ibadan. The meeting, presided over by the State Youth Leader, Comrade Lekan Bello, had in attendance all 33 Local Government Youth Leaders and the three Senatorial Youth Leaders of the party.
Also present were the State Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, and State Secretary, Hon. Oyelami Oyeyemi Joel, who jointly charged the youth leaders to remain united, focused, and committed to the party’s progress and success in future elections.
Following extensive deliberations on strengthening the youth wing and enhancing party structures across the state, the youth leaders unanimously adopted several key resolutions.
Among these were a reaffirmation of loyalty to Governor Makinde and the PDP, a vote of confidence in the governor’s administration, and a renewed commitment to ensuring total victory for the party in 2027. The communiqué also expressed gratitude to Governor Makinde for his visionary and inclusive governance, particularly in empowering young people to play meaningful roles in leadership.
The youth leaders commended the governor’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development, describing his administration as a “beacon of progress and hope” for Oyo State.
In their collective statement, the youth leaders pledged to intensify mobilization, sensitization, and grassroots engagement across all 33 local government areas to consolidate the PDP’s support base. They also called for unity, resilience, and steadfastness among all youth members, emphasizing that their strength lies in collective commitment to the ideals of peace and progress.
Quoting Nelson Mandela, the communiqué noted: “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”
Comrade Lekan Bello, in his closing remarks, appreciated the local government and senatorial youth leaders for their steadfastness and invaluable contributions to the continued growth of the party in Oyo State.
