Hon. (Dr.) Dawood Olalere, popularly known as D-Al-Ameen, the member representing Ibadan North-West State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, has extended warm congratulations to Oba (Sen.) Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja on his confirmation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
D-Al-Ameen paid a courtesy visit to the Olubadan-designate at his Bodija residence, where he described his ascension to the throne as a divine blessing to Ibadanland and the Yoruba nation. He lauded Oba Ladoja’s exceptional leadership, statesmanship, and dedication to community development, stressing that his new role would further deepen unity and progress in the land.
The lawmaker highlighted Oba Ladoja’s long-standing contributions to politics and governance, especially his tenure as Governor of Oyo State, where he introduced people-oriented policies. According to him, these legacies have earned the incoming monarch widespread respect, making his elevation to the throne a well-deserved honor.
In his goodwill message through SoroSoke Media Team, Dr. D-Al-Ameen prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and guidance for the Olubadan-designate as he prepares to assume the revered stool. He also called on the people of Ibadanland to rally behind their new monarch, emphasizing that collective support and loyalty to the throne would help sustain peace, harmony, and rapid development.
The confirmation of Oba Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan marks a significant moment in Ibadan’s rich cultural heritage. The Olubadan stool, renowned for its unique succession system where every chief has a defined path to ascend, remains one of the most respected traditional institutions in Yorubaland. The city’s orderly chieftaincy system ensures that ascension to the throne is largely devoid of succession crises, a tradition that has preserved stability for centuries.
Oba Ladoja’s coronation, eagerly anticipated by indigenes and residents of Ibadan, is expected to be a grand celebration of culture, history, and unity. The event will not only attract dignitaries from across Nigeria but will also reinforce Ibadan’s place as a cultural capital of the Yoruba nation.
As preparations for the coronation intensify, voices of goodwill continue to pour in from political leaders, traditional rulers, and citizens across the state, all hailing Oba Ladoja’s ascension as a new dawn for Ibadanland. For Hon. D-Al-Ameen, the enthronement of the former governor is a moment of pride and a call for every Ibadan son and daughter to support the monarch in shaping a prosperous future for the ancient city.
