The Igbo Community in Oyo State, under the leadership of Hon. Tallest Innocent, Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Oyo State on Community Relations, has congratulated Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, popularly known as Don, on his victory in the just-concluded Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election held on Saturday, 16th August 2025.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Hon. Tallest Innocent described Don’s triumph at the polls as not just a personal victory but a collective endorsement of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the progressive vision it represents. He stressed that the outcome of the election reflects the overwhelming confidence of the electorate in the party’s ability to deliver purposeful representation and sustainable development.

He further commended the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, for providing the solid foundation that made the victory possible. According to him, Makinde’s inclusive governance, strategic leadership, and unrelenting grassroots connection remain the cornerstone of PDP’s growing strength and acceptance across the state.

> “We heartily congratulate Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle ‘Don’ on this well-deserved victory. The people of Ibadan North have spoken loudly and clearly, reaffirming their faith in the PDP as the party of the people. This victory would not have been possible without the visionary guidance of our leader, Governor Seyi Makinde, whose people-centered style of governance continues to strengthen our structures and inspire loyalty among the electorate,” Tallest stated.

He urged the newly elected lawmaker to rise to the occasion by offering quality, inclusive, and people-driven representation, with a special focus on youth empowerment, human capital development, and constituency projects that will uplift lives and further entrench PDP’s progressive agenda.

Hon. Tallest Innocent also saluted the commitment and resilience of PDP leaders, members, and loyal supporters within Ibadan North and across Oyo State. He charged them to sustain their unity and dedication as the party prepares for greater victories in future elections.

He concluded that Don’s victory is more than a constituency win — it is a strategic signal that PDP remains the dominant force in Oyo State politics and a rallying point of hope for Nigerians yearning for genuine change and people-oriented governance.
