EKSU OYO CAMPUS SUG PRESIDENT HOLDS “WELCOME BACK” PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS, CHARGES THEM TO FOCUS ON THEIR EDUCATION
The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti (in affiliation with Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo) yesterday hosted its much-anticipated “Back to Campus NUESA Hangout, Gyration 2025 Edition” a vibrant welcome-back program aimed at rekindling students’ unity, morale, and academic focus for the new session.
The event, held in front of BOT Hall beside Ajiga, brought together students, academic staff, and invited guests in an atmosphere of music, dance, games, and kegite gyration.
Dignitaries in attendance included Dr. Wole Akinlabi, Dean of Students’ Affairs, and Com. Siyandade Victor, NANS Vice Chairman, Oyo State Axis, among other notable personalities.
In his welcome address, the President of NUESA, Sen. Rasaq Hassan Alao (Merit), expressed joy over the successful turnout and described the hangout as “not just about fun, but about reconnecting, rebuilding bonds, and reigniting the spirit of unity and excellence in our academic journey.”
He reminded students that while academic excellence remains their core mission, holistic development through social interaction, skill acquisition, and teamwork is equally essential in today’s competitive world.
He encouraged students to stay committed to their studies as their degree is their foundation, develop their talents and soft skills as they will set them apart, and maintain discipline and integrity as these values will carry them far beyond the four walls of the campus.
The SUG President further urged students to maximize opportunities to network, share ideas, and learn from one another, stressing that such gatherings strengthen the NUESA family spirit.
He expressed profound appreciation to the school’s management, staff advisers, and all individuals who contributed to the event’s success, describing their support as a pillar for the union’s continued progress.
The program ended on a lively note, with participants engaging in fun activities that fostered unity, respect, and love among students hallmarks of the EKSU/Emmanuel Alayande University of Education student community.
